Values and work
Work and priority areas
The core priority areas for The Sundar Singh Foundation include the relief of poverty and sickness,
promotion of
sustainable development, advancing the education of persons in need and the promotion of human rights,
equality and diversity across the world.
We achieve this by providing financial or other assistance to smaller charities that have developed a strong
track record of working in this space. We look to support charities that ideally have:
- A robust management team with an outcome based culture
- Annual income less than £100,000
- 100% donation policy
We may also support larger well run charities with similar goals.
Guiding Principles
These principles outline how we aim to work as an organisation. They guide our activity, serve as a
reference
for our ongoing work, and help to ensure that our actions are consistent with our aspirations.
Funding focus
- We focus on work with a track record of success.
- We support charities that help to build better futures for children and low-income communities in India
and across the world.
We seek to be responsive
- We aim to be accessible and open.
- In the longer term we review our focus areas to ensure we keep pace with the evolving needs of society.
We aim to maintain a rational, pragmatic approach
- We make robust assessments of organisations that we look to support
- We act clearly, fairly, honestly and with integrity in all of our activities.
Governance
Our Trustee Board meets two times each year to set and oversee our strategy, objectives and monitor
effectiveness.
